INTEGRA
Finalization of the INTEGRA Project - Summary of Activities and Results
The INTEGRA Project is coming to an end! Over the past few months, together with our partners from Poland and Italy, we have been working on exchanging experiences and developing specific tools and recommendations to support the integration of migrants and refugees into the labor market.
As part of the project, we carried out a series of activities that contributed to strengthening cross-sector cooperation, deepening the understanding of integration challenges, and gathering inspiring examples of good practices.
Together Towards Successful Integration!
Study Visit to Italy (8th–11th October 2024, Novara)
The first stage of the project was a study visit to Novara, hosted by the partners - the Stella Virium Foundation and the Hesed. The aim of the meeting was to exchange proven solutions for socio-professional integration and to learn about each other's methods of working with migrants.
During the visit, participants had the opportunity to learn about the work of local institutions and non-governmental organizations, as well as to speak directly with migrants.
The results and a report from the visit can be seen in the video below:
Guidebook: Success Stories and Practical Tips for Migrants
One of the main outcomes of the project is the guidebook, we created, which features over 20 inspiring success stories of migrants from Poland and Italy. The publication also includes:
- specific recommendations
- practical information useful for migrants and refugees
- tips on employment, education, adaptation, and integration
The full version of the guidebook can be downloaded from the "Files to download".
THINK TANK - Collaborative Workshop on Recommendations (8 April 2025, Kraków)
In the next stage of the project, we organized a THINK TANK in Kraków, which brought together representatives of:
- the Stella Virium Foundation
- the Hesed Organization
- the Regional Labour Office in Kraków (WUP)
- the Grodzki Labour Office in Kraków (GUP Kraków)
- the Kraków City Office
- Internationaler Bund
- Group FBA
- AON
Together, we developed a set of recommendations on supporting migrants and refugees in Poland and Italy, with particular emphasis on strengthening cross-sector cooperation, avoiding duplication of aid, and promoting long-term solutions.
Based on the materials developed during the THINK TANK, we prepared a final report in three languages. You can access it by clicking the links below:
INTEGRA Conference - See What Modern Approaches to Migrant Integration Look Like!
On April 10, 2025, the final Dissemination Conference of the INTEGRA project project took place in Kraków, bringing together experts, officials, activists, and migrants themselves. It wasn’t a typical conference - it was a lively gathering of people, ideas, and inspiration.
The agenda featured, among others:
- Moving stories of migrants - the real heroes of our guidebook shared how they rebuilt their lives in Poland and Italy.
- A heated debate featuring representatives from the City Office, WUP, GUP, Internationaler Bund, and FBA - concrete recommendations, real challenges, and practical solutions.
- Presentation of the results from the study visit to Italy - learning from each other across borders.
