What is the intergenerational Creative Recycling project?
This is a project aimed at exchanging knowledge and experiences between generations and cultures on how to care for our planet by reducing waste.
During three workshops held in Krakow, we will teach each other different ways to reuse unwanted products from the following categories: clothing, food, and other items.
Who is it for?
For representatives of different generations who want to exchange knowledge and experiences for the good of our planet.
We invite representatives of all generations who want to share their ideas, skills, and experiences in the field of creatively transforming “old” or unnecessary items into new, usable items, or who care about the well-being of our planet and enjoy spending time in the spirit of intergenerational exchange of knowledge and experiences, to participate in the project :)
When and where?
The third workshop, “How to give new life to various everyday objects,” will take place on June 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Multicultural Center in Krakow, Zabłocie 20.
As part of the workshop:
- cardboard gift boxes and live flower prints
- a vase made from an unwanted bottle and eggshells
- dyeing as a way to repair cotton bags/T-shirts
- tablecloths made from unwanted curtains
- a surprise product made from fabric scraps
Organizational details:
- The workshops are free of charge and will be held in Krakow.
- Each workshop will be attended by 8 seniors and 8 people from the younger generation (a total of 16 participants in each workshop).
- The duration of one workshop is 8 teaching hours (45 minutes) with a lunch break.
- The foundation covers the cost of materials and provides participants with meals. Everyone gets to take their creations home with them :)
- By signing up for the project, participants agree to be photographed and to have the results of the project displayed in a virtual gallery, which will be created after all workshops have been completed and published online in the three partner countries: Poland, Iceland, and Italy.
The result of the workshops – a virtual gallery
The results of the workshops will be documented in the form of a virtual gallery: each good practice will have a dedicated page containing a photo of the author, a short story, photos of the recycled materials, and the final product obtained from them. In addition, we will create a recipe or instructions so that others can be inspired and apply it at home :)
