On October 25, the Helping Hand project, delivered by the Stella Virium Foundation and State Street, held its Gala at the Saski Hotel Krakow, Curio Collection by Hilton
This year's edition was unique - for the first time it was addressed to people with disabilities and neurodiversity, interested in working in an international environment.
The fourth edition of the project was participated by 20 beneficiaries, who were supported by 70 State Street volunteers, sharing their practical knowledge and experience as part of the program.
During the two-week training, our participants learned the basics of working in an international environment and raised the competence required to work in today's labor market, including business communication, MS Office and labor law for people with disabilities. They also had individual conversations in Business English, practiced a recruitment interview with State Street employees, and benefited from individual mentoring meetings.
During the gala, certificates were awarded to those who completed the training and successfully passed the exam to prove their competencies. We had the opportunity to hear the impressions of both the beneficiaries, who talked about the changes that have taken place in their lives, and the volunteers who support us in the project for another year.
We are happy and proud that as many as three beneficiaries have taken up jobs while still in the program, we are keeping our fingers tightly crossed for the rest!
The official part was followed by a pleasant part of behind-the-scenes talks, exchange of professional (and not only professional) experiences, and making friends.
Thank you to everyone who co-created the project and to the Saski Hotel Krakow, Curio Collection by Hilton for the wonderful hospitality and openness to the needs of our beneficiaries.
See you in the next edition!
